Across the globe, one of the key talents that Asians are proud of is performing. Whether it’s singing, dancing or what-have-you, Asians — Filipinos, included — are always confident to be centerstage, entertaining an audience. With Southeast Asia being a hotspot for aspiring talents, Motor Image, the distributor for Subaru in Asia, has once again teamed up with multi-Grammy award winning artist Michael Bolton to launch the first season of “Asian Dream.”

Coming from the company’s previous collaboration on “Bolt Of Talent,” the new reality show is a singing competition to highlight talented musicians from across Asia, aimed at developing young talent that show passion, tenacity and drive. Six challengers will be vying for a spot in Michael Bolton’s “Asian Dream Tour,” as well as become the newest Subaru ambassador. Bolton is a co-creator of the show and will hold a resident judge position alongside Morissette Amon, a popular singer and actress from the Philippines. Morissette holds more than 30 performance awards under her belt, including “Artist of the Year” and “Pop Song of the Year.”

The “Asian Dream” challengers hail from the Philippines (Karl Zarate), Hong Kong (Becky Yeung), Vietnam (Linh Tran), Thailand (Sasha Ka), Malaysia (Poova Sri Rama) and Singapore (Tyen Rasif). Over the course of seven episodes, they will be mentored and coached by the resident judges as well as a special selection of guest celebrities from across Asia, which includes renowned fashion photographer Yu Tsai, one of the mainstays in “Asia’s Next Top Model,” and none other than Glenn Tan, the deputy chairman and managing director of Tan Chong International Limited, Motor Image’s holding company.

Tan shares, “We are proud to provide a unique platform and opportunity for aspiring singers to pursue their dreams. They are mentored individually by industry veterans, hone their skills through a series of challenges and encouraged to improve their performance. Through this experience, as they grow as performers, I hope that ‘Asian Dream’ will serve as a launchpad for their future success.”

Mark your calendars because “Asian Dream” premieres across Asia exclusively on AXN on Aug. 6, 2020 (Thursday) at 7:25 p.m. (6:25 p.m. JKT/BKK). It is produced by Refinery Media in association with Passion Films.
