The Asian Consulting Group (ACG), a digital tax hub catering to both major corporations and small businesses, is hosting the 2024 International Tax and Investment Conference (ITIC) on Feb. 27 at the Sheraton Manila Hotel.

With the theme “Breaking Barriers in the Digital Economy,” the event aims to promote investment and business activities in the Philippines, fostering partnerships with international organizations, the national government, and local and foreign chambers of commerce.

With a focus on issues surrounding the digital economy, the conference will feature speakers from the public and private sectors including BIR Commissioner Romeo “Jun” Lumagui Jr., representatives from the World Bank Philippines, the Anti-Red Tape Authority, and other key government agencies.

Mon Abrea, chief tax advisor, ACG, along with conference chair Enrique Caeg and former Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, will lead discussions on topics such as tax policy reforms, digital transformation, and OECD Pillar Two adoption.

“In today’s interconnected world, understanding international tax laws and investment opportunities is more crucial than ever. By bringing together thought leaders and practitioners around the world, we hope to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration that will drive positive change in the economic industry,” Abrea said.

Abrea, also known as the Philippine Tax Whiz, will unveil his latest book, “Why Invest in the Philippines?” offering insights into the country’s business and investment landscape.

The conference initiates ACG’s annual International Roadshow, featuring roundtable discussions with foreign investors and multinational companies. Following the success of the 2023 event, this year’s conference promises to bring together industry leaders to drive positive economic change.
