Dabarkads across the country and around the world collectively greeted “Eat Bulaga’s” Bossing Vic Sotto a happy 70th birthday last Saturday, April 20. The longest-running Philippine noontime show put together a memorable episode to mark a special milestone not just for Bossing Vic but also for the whole “Eat Bulaga” family and supporters.

A special number featuring his children Danica, Oyo and wife Kristine Hermosa with daughter Ondrea, Paulina Llanes, and Tali plus the birthday greeting of son Mayor Vico Sotto, Bossing’s wife Pauleen Luna with baby Mochi warmed the heart of the birthday boy, who became emotional during his birthday celebration.

“When it comes to family, I can’t help but be emotional,” he said in an interview at his birthday celebration in the Eat Bulaga studio at TV5. “My wish and prayers are for them and all the Dabarkads,” he also said.

Bossing Vic has endeared himself to millions of viewers across several generations. From being one of the formidable TVJ trio that gave birth to “Eat Bulaga” over 44 years ago to his top-rating sitcoms and blockbuster movies that solidified his status as a pillar of Philippine show business, he has truly charmed his way into the hearts of Pinoy audiences with his wit, humor and genuine warmth. As one of the founders of the show, his contributions to the noontime show and the entertainment industry have made Bossing Vic irreplaceable in the hearts of many.

“Eat Bulaga” airs weekdays from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on TV5 and RPTV.
