True to its tradition of having the longest Christmas celebration on Philippine television,
TV5 officially welcomed the Yuletide Season at the start of the BER months with a Parol
Lighting Ceremony held in TV5 Novaliches on September 1. Making this Christmas more
meaningful and special is the 10th Anniversary celebration of Alagang Kapatid
Foundation, Inc. (AKFI) as represented by the Foundation’s beneficiary communities in
Sablayan Island, Sorsogon and Bucay, Abra who also displayed their own TV5 Parol.

Present during the TV5 Parol Lighting Ceremony were Cignal TV and TV5 President and
CEO Robert P. Galang, Media5 COO Dino M. Laurena, and Alagang Kapatid Foundation
Executive Director Menchie Silvestre.
According to Galang, TV5 is set to bring joy and hope to Kapatids all across the country.
Kapatid,” Galang said.
Now symbolically lit to be a shining beacon of hope this Christmas season, the TV5 Parol
will serve as a constant inspiration for the Network and all Kapatid viewers across the
nation to spread the joy of giving and embrace the spirit of camaraderie in this merriest
season of all.
In celebration of its 10th anniversary this year, the Alagang Kapatid Foundation has also
prepared a special treat for Kapatid viewers this Christmas with 10 inspirational stories
from the Foundation’s beneficiary communities across the country, soon to air on TV5.
Welcome the joyous season of the year with the symbolic TV5 Parol – together with the
communities of Sablayan Island, Sorsogon and Bucay, Abra – and be reminded that as
long as there is Christmas, there is hope. For more information on TV5’s exciting lineup
